Suryakumar Yadav on his Poor Form: Indian T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav is in the news these days due to his poor form. Till now in the year 2025, he has not scored even a single half-century from his bat, due to which he is also being criticized. However, Suryakumar himself is not under much pressure regarding this. He has clearly said that there are ups and downs in every player’s career and he considers this period as a learning process.

Addressing students at a university, Suryakumar Yadav said that sports teaches them many important lessons of life. He said, “There comes a phase in every player’s career which I consider as a learning stage. The same time is going on for me right now. The 14 players of my team are fully supporting me. They know what impact it will have the day I return to form.” On this statement, the students present there encouraged him with loud applause.

Statistics are not helping

Batting at numbers three and four in the last one year, Suryakumar Yadav has been able to score runs at an average of only 12.84 in 22 innings without any half-century. His performance in the five-match T20 series against South Africa was also disappointing, where his scores were 12, 5, 12 and 5. Now he has only five matches left before the T20 World Cup.

Confident of comeback before T20 World Cup

During a conversation at the BCCI headquarters after the selection of the Indian team for the T20 World Cup, Suryakumar said, “This patch has been a bit long, but I know where to improve. I have time before the New Zealand series and the T20 World Cup. You will see me coming back again.” He also said that he is not out of form, just not able to score runs.

Suryakumar’s bat has been quiet since he replaced Rohit Sharma as captain after the 2024 T20 World Cup win. His performance in the series against England and South Africa was weak. Although he scored runs with a better strike rate on the Australia tour, he again struggled on home grounds.

Taking help from old videos

To get back his form, Suryakumar Yadav is constantly watching his old batting videos. He said that when the player has performed well in the past, those memories help in regaining confidence. He expressed confidence that he would soon overcome this invisible obstacle.
