warning people to be careful
Regarding the data leak incident, the State Cyber Cell has warned people to be alert, requesting them to change their passwords and turn on two-factor verification.

Since two-factor verification is enabled on your email ID, even if a hacker has the password of your email ID, he will not be able to access your account. The reason behind this is that after entering the ID password, an OTP will be sent to your mobile number for two-factor verification, which will be known only to you, hence hackers will not be able to access your account.

It is important to be careful even in two-factor verification. If your mobile screen asks for email permission, be careful not to click on the “Yes, it’s me” option. If you do this, all your information will be given to the hacker.

If you click this option by mistake, change your password immediately. This will restore access to your email ID.

While giving information, Madhya Pradesh State Cyber SP Pranay Nagvanshi had said that it is estimated that cyber criminals have the email IDs and passwords of 68 crore internet users across the country. The advisory to the public states that users should have different passwords for all their websites and social media handles.
