After the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and New Zealand, a big discussion has started regarding Kiwi fruit. It is believed that this deal will have a direct impact on the prices of Kiwi coming from New Zealand and this fruit may become cheaper in India than before. At present, the average price of a Kiwi in India is around Rs 50 or more. But under the FTA, the 33% import tax on Kiwi coming from New Zealand will be reduced to 0%. This will reduce the cost of imports and a decline in prices may be seen from wholesale to retail markets.
