The year is about to end and if you are thinking of completing any important bank work in the last week of December, then this news is for you only. Due to holidays, banks are going to remain closed for several days in many parts of the country. Lest you go to the bank and find it locked, check the complete list in advance to know when the banks will be closed in your city. Keep one thing in mind, these holidays are not the same in the entire country. Some holidays will be held only in some states or cities. Biggest holiday: Christmas Day Christmas is on 25th December (Thursday), and on this day all government and private banks will remain closed in the entire country. So do not plan to go to the bank on this date. There will be holidays on these dates too, especially in the North-East. There are a lot of holidays around Christmas, especially in the North-East states. If you live in these areas, then this list is very important for you: 24 December (Wednesday): Banks will remain closed in Aizawl, Kohima and Shillong on Christmas Eve. 26 December (Friday): There will be a holiday again in Aizawl, Kohima and Shillong for Christmas celebrations. 27 December (Saturday): Banks will remain closed only in Kohima. 30 December (Tuesday): Banks will remain closed in Shillong on the death anniversary of U Kiang Nangbah. 31 December (Wednesday): Banks will remain closed in Aizawl and Imphal on New Year’s Eve. Don’t worry, online work will not stop. The closure of bank branches does not mean that all your work will stop. Even during these holidays, you can easily send or receive money through UPI. You can use mobile banking and internet banking. You can withdraw money from ATM. But, if you have to go to the bank counter to deposit cash, get the check cleared, or get the passbook updated, then these tasks will not be possible. Therefore, if you have any such work, get it done before the holidays.
