New Delhi: Online chatter surrounding a viral dance video featuring Akanksha Chamola, wife of Gaurav Khanna, has now been addressed by the Bigg Boss 19 winner. The clip, filmed during a private celebration, sparked online trolling, prompting Gaurav to step forward and offer clarification.

In a recent interview with Hungama Studio, the actor stated that the criticism had not affected him. It was explained that the video was taken at a success party hosted by his publicist after his win on Bigg Boss 19. The event, according to Gaurav, was organised for the team that worked tirelessly while he remained inside the Bigg Boss house.

“First of all I would like to inform everyone that the girls Akanksha was dancing with were team members of my publicist, who worked hard when I was inside the Bigg Boss 19 house,” Gaurav said. It was further added that the celebration marked a collective victory. As dancing is not something he enjoys, his wife was encouraged to join in and lift the mood. “My wife Akanksha felt she should join them and make the moment bigger as it was everyone’s victory,” he stated.

The trolling, he noted, appeared to stem from misinformation. Many users, it was said, did not know who Akanksha was dancing with. “I just stood behind and let her enjoy it as it was my team’s win after all,” he added. The team’s contribution, he emphasised, deserved recognition and celebration.

Addressing the online backlash directly, Gaurav remarked, “As far as trolls are concerned, I don’t get affected by them as I understand they are fans of someone.” It was suggested that such comments often come with agendas meant to pull others down so that “our favourite celebrity looks better.”

Akanksha’s extroverted personality was also highlighted. Gaurav shared that this trait is something he deeply admires. The couple, who dated for some time, were married on November 24, 2016, in a grand three-day celebration held in Kanpur.

The response follows Gaurav Khanna’s major professional milestone. Bigg Boss 19 concluded on December 7, with him lifting the trophy and winning the cash prize. He emerged victorious after defeating Farrhana Bhatt in the finale. The season began on August 24, and throughout his journey, Gaurav was seen as a quiet observer rather than a loud contender.
