New Delhi: Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had said that, we have become the second largest producer of mobile phones in the world. Today 30 crore mobile phones are being produced in India. He said that the Central Government is establishing the telecom equipment manufacturing sector in the country. Foreign direct investment in this sector is expected to increase rapidly.

The Union Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has exported mobile phones worth Rs 1.28 lakh crore in the last 10 years. Earlier, most of the mobile phones in India were imported and exports were only Rs. 1,500 crore. The value addition of mobile phones has increased by 20 percent and this has happened because our government has changed the norms of FDI.
