New Delhi: Tuesday was a day of mourning not only for Bangladeshi politics but also for the country’s sports world. Following the death of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) decided to cancel the scheduled Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) matches as a mark of respect deeply impacting cricket in the country.
BPL Under a Cloud of Mourning
Upon receiving the news of Khaleda Zia’s death the BCB immediately announced the cancellation of all BPL matches scheduled for Tuesday. This decision was taken to pay tribute to the former Prime Minister and in observance of national mourning.

However both matches were cancelled a few hours before they were due to start. These matches will be rescheduled for later dates.
