Lucknow. Relief news has emerged for patients suffering from serious diseases in Uttar Pradesh. The state government is now preparing to provide free cancer treatment facility even in those districts where this system was not available till now. Additional Chief Secretary Medical Health Amit Kumar Ghosh has given clear instructions to set up cancer units in district level hospitals on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

Free cancer treatment reaches every district of the state

Amit Kumar Ghosh said that in the districts where free cancer treatment facilities are not available, work should be started as soon as possible by making an action plan. Just as free dialysis services are being successfully operated on PPP model in the state, on the same lines, cancer treatment will also be made accessible to the general public. For this, instructions have been given to prepare the proposal soon.

Expansion of dialysis and MRI services

During the review meeting, he also said that the number of free dialysis units should be increased in the entire state, so that more and more patients can get its benefit. Along with this, it has been asked to prepare a detailed report on the availability of services as per the demand regarding MRI testing facility in every district.

Chief Minister’s Jan Arogya Melas will get strength

It was also said in the meeting that Chief Minister Jan Arogya Melas should be made a strong medium of primary health services, so that people can get treatment near their homes. Besides, instructions were given to ensure 100% availability of human resources at health sub-centres.

Special focus on critical care

Emphasis has been laid on training human resources for better utilization of critical care units and ventilators in the hospitals of the state. Apart from this, instructions were also given to ensure uninterrupted oxygen supply, clean drinking water, and availability of standard clean sheets for patients in medical institutions.
