Call the Midwife legend Helen George has shared a sweet tribute to her new boyfriend.

The 40-year-old actress, who plays Nurse Trixie on the BBC drama, took to her Instagram Story on New Year's Eve to confirm she had met Dan Innes a year ago.

In Helen's touching post, she shared a photo of Dan holding her beloved dog. Her beau can be seen wearing a pair of sunglasses, a neck scarf, and a blue jacket as he peers into the distance, cradling the pooch.

It is believed Helen found happiness with Dan after connecting on the dating platform Raya.

She captioned the post: "On New Year's Eve last year, my friends and I set hopes and intentions for 2025. Little did I know mine would walk into my life the very next day. Do it tonight, they might come true @daninnes."

Helen confirmed her new romance on Valentine's Day when she shared the evening with Dan at the riverside restaurant, The Watermans Arms, in Barnes.

Posting a snap to Instagram of her table, filled with tasty-looking plates of steak, chips, and two glasses of red wine, she penned: "The most delicious Valentine's over-ordering. Hearts and stomachs full," tagging Dan in the post.

According to Dan's LinkedIn profile, he has over 25 years of experience in real estate and attended Newcastle University.

Dan is currently the managing director and founder of real estate consultancy firm Innesco, according to his Instagram profile.

Over the past 12 months, Helen has shared glimpses of her relationship with Dan as they enjoy quality time together, including holidays abroad.

In October, Helen shared a gorgeous selfie alongside Dan as they celebrated a friend's wedding in Italy.

The happy couple can be seen side by side, soaking up the Mediterranean sun. Helen captioned the post: "An Italian summer; celebrating my dearest friends, cave swimming and pistachio gelato @daninnes (love heart)."

Helen shares two daughters, Wren and Lark, with her ex-partner of seven years, Jack Ashton, with whom she split in 2023.

The former couple met on the set of Call the Midwife, where Jack played the local vicar, Reverend Tom Hereward, who had an on-screen relationship with Trixie Franklin.

Away from the rolling cameras, Helen and Jack's relationship blossomed, and they started a family together.

Confirming her split from Jack, Helen told The Mirror in July 2023: "Some months ago, we separated. Our two beautiful girls remain the focus, and I respectfully ask for privacy for this next chapter."
