VB-G Ram Ji Scheme: The central government has come up with a new and strong scheme for rural laborers, named Vikas Bharat-G Gram Ji Act 2025 (VB-G Ram Ji Scheme). This scheme is being implemented in place of MNREGA. Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has clearly said that now delay in wages of workers will not be tolerated. If the money is not received on time, the workers will be paid with interest.

What is VB-G Ram Ji Yojana

VB-G Ram Ji Yojana has been designed with the aim of strengthening the villages and the poor. Under this scheme, there will be a legal guarantee of providing 125 days of work in a year to every registered laborer. The government says that this law will further strengthen employment, transparency and accountability. Village people will get work in their own area, which will also reduce migration.

What changed regarding wage payment?

Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that the biggest change in this scheme is regarding wage payment. According to the rules, it will be necessary to pay wages to the laborer within a week of completion of the work. If for any reason payment is not made within 15 days, 0.05 percent interest will also be given along with the wages. This will increase the confidence of the workers and their hard work will be properly respected.

Gram Sabha gets more rights

The role of Gram Sabha has been made more powerful in the new scheme. Now the Gram Sabha will decide what work will be done in the village. This will include works like water conservation work, road and infrastructure construction, livelihood work and disaster relief. This will lead to development as per the real need of the village and will also provide work.

Women got special benefits

Women have also been given special attention in VB-G Ram Ji Yojana. At least 33 percent of the total work will be reserved for women. This will give the village women an opportunity to become self-reliant. Besides, states have also been given the right to employ laborers in agricultural work for 60 days during the farming season.

Administrative costs and transparency

To properly implement the scheme, administrative expenses have been increased from 6 percent to 9 percent. The government believes that this will improve monitoring and workers will get work and money on time. Payment and work information will be easily available through digital system.
