New Delhi:There has hardly been any young player in Indian cricket who has been burdened with expectations as heavy as Arjun Tendulkar. Being the son of Sachin Tendulkar, who worshiped cricket like a god, means not only recognition, but also comparison, criticism and the challenge of proving oneself at every step. Arjun has felt this pressure closely in his career so far and he is constantly trying to create his own identity.

Made his mark as a fast bowler

Arjun Tendulkar is generally known as a left arm fast bowler. He has tried to establish himself by playing for Goa in domestic cricket. He was also seen on the field on some occasions in IPL and has now become a part of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) before IPL 2026. This change is being considered as a new opportunity for his career, where he can get a platform to prove himself.

There is power hidden in batting also

Although Arjun is known for bowling, there have been discussions from time to time about his batting as well. Scoring a century in first-class cricket is proof that there is versatility in his game. It does not seem possible that getting guidance from a great batsman like Sachin Tendulkar since childhood did not affect his game.

Yograj Singh revealed his secrets

Famous Indian domestic cricket coach and former cricketer Yograj Singh has made a big revelation about Arjun Tendulkar’s batting. Yograj told that Arjun had come to take training from him for a few weeks in the initial phase of his career. According to Yograj, he saw Arjun bat for the first time and was quite impressed. Arjun was continuously hitting fours and sixes in the nets. Yograj even said that Arjun’s batting style is very much like his father Sachin Tendulkar.

century in ranji

Yograj Singh also recalled that after just a few days of hard training, Arjun had scored a century in his debut match in Ranji Trophy. This achievement was special because like his father, he had already scored a century in the Ranji match. However, after this, Arjun’s batting record was not very good. His average in first-class cricket is around 21 and so far he has been able to score only two half-centuries. Despite this, Yograj believes that he should have got more opportunities to bat.

The pain of not getting a chance in IPL

Yograj Singh also claimed that he had sent a message to Mumbai Indians advising them to try Arjun as an opening batsman in 2-3 matches, but his advice was not listened to. According to him, limiting a player like Arjun to just being a bowler is unfair to his talent.

the way forward is just open

The door of the Indian team may still be far away for 26-year-old Arjun Tendulkar, but he has both time and opportunity. Consistent good performance in domestic cricket and right opportunities in IPL can give him a new identity. Being Sachin Tendulkar’s son may be a challenge for him, but if Arjun performs as per his potential, he can definitely write his own story.
