Foxtale’s net loss widened 32.5% to INR 72.7 Cr in FY25 from INR 54.8 Cr in the previous fiscal year, as its cash burn increased with the rise in sales
The startup’s operating revenue surged 138.7% to INR 198.7 Cr during the year under review from INR 83.2 Cr in FY24
Total expenditure also increased 100.2% to INR 278.9 Cr in FY25 from INR 139.3 Cr in the previous fiscal year

D2C beauty and skincare brand Foxtale’s net loss widened 32.5% to INR 72.7 Cr in the financial year ended March 2025 (FY25) from INR 54.8 Cr in the previous fiscal year, as its cash burn increased with the rise in sales.
The startup’s operating revenue surged 138.7% to INR 198.7 Cr during the year under review from INR 83.2 Cr in FY24. Including other income of INR 7.5 Cr, total revenue jumped 2.4X to INR 206.2 Cr.
Founded in 2021 by Romita Mazumdar, Foxtale sells skincare products such as serums, masks, moisturisers, face washes, sunscreens, among others. The startup claims to have served more than 15 Lakh customers through its portfolio of 20 SKUs.
Foxtale sells its products through its website, ecommerce marketplaces, quick commerce platforms, and offline retail stores.
The Mumbai-based skincare brand has raised over $66 Mn in funding to date from investors like Z47, Panthera Growth Partners, Kae Capital, among others. It last raised $30 Mn last year in its Series C round.
Foxtale competes with the likes of Dot & Key, Minimalist, Plum, mCaffeine, Hindustan Unilever, Lakme, among others, in the country’s beauty and skincare market.
With the rise in its top line, Foxtale’s total expenditure also increased 100.2% to INR 278.9 Cr in FY25 from INR 139.3 Cr in the previous fiscal year. Here’s the key expenses during the year:

Employee Benefit Expenses: Spending under this head, which included salaries, wages, bonus, compensation, gratuity, staff welfare and ESOP expenses, zoomed 56% to INR 30.7 Cr from INR 19.7 Cr in the previous fiscal year.
Purchase Of Traded Goods: At INR 94.4 Cr, it accounted for 33.8% of the overall expenses. This was a rise of 126.2% from INR 41.7 Cr in FY24.
Advertisement & Sales Promotion Expenses: Foxtale sharply increased its spending on advertising and marketing to grow its sales. It spent INR 105.8 Cr under the head in FY25, an increase of 110.2% from INR 50.4 Cr in FY24.
