A beautiful seaside city that remains warm into February has flights available for only £15. Agadiris situated in the southern coastal region of Morocco, approximately 154 miles from the more popular Marrakech.

Marrakech is likely the go-to destination you think of when you consider a trip to Morocco. However, Agadir is more relaxed and laid-back, with expansive beaches, great weather and plenty of tourist attractions.

Agadir is becoming an increasingly popular winter sun destination thanks to its mild weather during the winter months. There are usually eight or nine hours of sunshine with average temperatures of around 21-23C well into January and February.

Head inland and explore the colourful Souk El Had market. One of the largest souks in Morocco, this market in the heart of Agadir has over 6,000 shops selling everything from colourful rugs to locally-made ceramics, handbags and souvenirs. You can also see a slice of Morocco's history at La Médina d'Agadir, a unique attraction that recreates Agadir's old town.

An earthquake destroyed the original back in 1960, along with thousands of years of history, so the recreation allows you to experience exploring the narrow, ornately decorated streets that were lost.

A cable car ride to the Kasbah Ruins offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and coastline, and is a must-do for first-time visitors. Other go-to attractions include the Hidden Atlas Mountain Valley, the Crocoparc amusement park and the lively seafront promenade.

The long, sandy beach stretches over five and a half miles. Its clean waters have earned it Blue Flag status, and it's a popular spot for surfing due to its strong currents. Swimming can be more difficult, but when the tide is in natural pools form, which can be safe for taking a dip.

One holiday expert, known on TikTok as 'robonthebeach', thinks Agadir will become all the rage this year. He said: "It's a four hour flight from the UK, the weather's about 25 degrees all year, and the resorts have gone up a notch in the last few years."

There are currently direct flights to Agadir from London, Edinburgh, and the East Midlands. According to Skyscanner, there are flights available for as low as £15 one-way. Agadir has numerous accommodation options, including hotels, B&Bs, Airbnbs, hostels and more.
