Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the progress of development works and law and order with officials at the Circuit House Auditorium during his two-day visit to Varanasi on Saturday. He directed to expedite the land acquisition work for widening of Dalmandi road and also to speed up the road construction work. Instructions were also given to ensure speedy disposal of the pending cases in courts by doing proper advocacy.

While directing the officials, CM Yogi said that while talking to the public representatives, their suggestions should also be included in the proposals for the works to flood prevention in the district. Instructions were also given to ensure necessary action for the revitalization of Varuna River. Emphasis was laid on continuously increasing communication with the sailors, so that the devotees do not have to face any inconvenience. He said that the ghat is for devotees, which is a place of sanctity, any kind of protest and anarchy will not be acceptable there.

The Chief Minister said that the nodal officer should monitor every work and if any obstacle is seen at any level, it should be resolved immediately so that the expected progress is ensured. He directed that the Municipal Corporations and Jal Nigams should seriously monitor their functioning for sewerage and drinking water and ensure that pure drinking water supply is ensured to the citizens under all circumstances.

He also directed to organize rickshaws and handcarts by creating wedding zones to prevent unnecessary traffic jams on the roads and to organize illegal taxi stands, bus stands and rickshaw stands by creating parking lots at suitable places. In view of the cold, adequate night shelters should be operated and sufficient quantity of blankets and other necessary arrangements should be ensured there. He also directed the Municipal Corporation and Development Authority to ensure better facilities for the citizens.


While directing the officers, the Chief Minister said that the Public Works Department, Bridge Corporation and other executing agencies should also get their development projects reviewed by the public representatives. Instructions were given to maintain vigilance including special preparations regarding Magh Mela. Timely and quality disposal of revenue claims should be ensured. Emphasizing the need for police, home guards and other forces to further improve their functioning, he said that their behavior towards tourists and common people should be cooperative. Instructions were also given to take strict action against hookah bars and other unethical activities in the district.


District Magistrate kept information about various development works under construction


Earlier, District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar presented the information about various development works under construction in the district before the Chief Minister. In which he told that from 2014 to 2025, a total of 486 projects worth Rs 35155 crore have been completed. At present, a total of 128 projects worth Rs 17915 crore are in progress, which includes 24 projects of roads and bridges worth Rs 5812 crore. Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal presented information about law and order, effective action against cow smugglers, traffic system including cyber crime before the Chief Minister.


All public representatives and top officials of the district were present in the meeting.
