The Board took a detailed review of the situation taking into account the events of the last 24 hours and expressed deep concern over the situation surrounding the participation of the Bangladesh national team in the matches in India.


BCB Appeal to ICC


In its statement, the board further said that after a thorough review of the current situation and after considering the growing concerns regarding the security of the Bangladesh team in India and the advice of the Bangladesh government, the board of directors has decided that the Bangladesh national team will not participate in the tournament under the current circumstances. In the wake of this decision, the BCB, as the competition authority, has formally requested the International Cricket Council (ICC) to consider shifting all Bangladesh matches to venues outside India.



The Board believes that such action is necessary to protect the safety and welfare of Bangladeshi players, team officials, board members and other stakeholders and to ensure that the team can participate in the competition in a safe and appropriate environment.
