SinPal Energy has introduced its next generation electric scooter, One Gen 2. Its starting ex-showroom price has been kept at ₹ 1.39 lakh. Along with this electric scooter, the company has also introduced a new simple 'Ultra' scooter. The Simple Ultra has a 6.5 kWh battery pack, which gives an IDC-certified range of 400 kilometers. This is also the first e-scooter in the country with such a range. This scooter accelerates from 0-40 kilometers per hour in just 2.77 seconds. At present, the company has not given any further information about this model. With this amazing range, the company will compete with premium scooters from Ola and models from Bajaj, TVS and Ather Energy.

Design and chassis

Simple One Gen 2 has more sharp styling and new graphics on the body panels. Visual updates also include redesigned rear-view mirrors. At the same time, some structural changes have also been made in it. The scooter is now built on a new chassis, which Simple Energy claims is 22% stronger. The company says that its purpose is to make the scooter more stable at high speed and increase the confidence of the rider.

Battery and range

The biggest upgrade on the Simple One Gen 2 is its larger battery. The top variant now has a 5 kWh battery, which is said to be 4 kg lighter than before. According to the company, this variant gives a range of up to 265 kilometers on a single charge. The variant with a 4.5 kWh battery has a range of 236 kilometres, and the entry-level 3.7 kWh variant can go up to 190 kilometres. The battery is integrated with a new battery management system and has an IP67 rating, which provides better protection against water and dust.

Features and Software

This scooter runs on the new Simple OS. It has many new software-based features. For safety, it has a 'Drop Safe' feature, which prevents the scooter from moving if it falls. The 'Super Hold' feature helps in handling the scooter on slopes. Apart from this, parking mode and real-time vehicle status is also available. The Simple One Gen 2 features a 7-inch digital instrument cluster with auto brightness, Bluetooth connectivity and non-touch interface. Storage also varies depending on the variant, with the top variant having up to 8 GB of internal memory.
