Despite the Kansas City Chiefs’ loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, the spotlight remained on tight end Travis Kelce amid intensifying rumours regarding his retirement from the NFL.
Reports circulating online suggest the 36-year-old may have just played his final game. Following the whistle, Kelce was greeted by a “receiving line” of teammates and guests offering hugs, a scene many interpreted as a sign of his potential departure.
Kelce did not hide his uncertainty when speaking to the media.
“Who knows? Who knows? Either it hits me quick or I gotta take some time,” he said. Last year was a little bit easier. I think I knew right away I wanted to give this one shot. So, we’ll see.”

He expressed a need to detach from the emotions of the game before making a final decision.
“I’ve got so much love for this team, this organisation and the people here. I’ll spend some time with them, go through exit meetings tomorrow, get close to the family and figure things out.”
Despite the 14-12 loss, Kelce reached 13,000 career receiving yards, becoming the fastest tight end in NFL history to hit that milestone.

Off the field, the legendary tight end is planning a summer wedding with Taylor Swift. Many fans perceive this as his chance to “ride off into the sunset” rather than signing a new contract as a free agent.
Kelce indicated that he will give the team a clear answer by March to ensure his roster spot can be filled appropriately.
