Lucknow, 8 January. The examination of Assistant Professor has been canceled in Uttar Pradesh. Actually, UP STF had found out about rigging and illegal money collection in the examination of Assistant Professor. The government decided to cancel this examination after allegations of rigging. According to the statement issued, STF received information to irregularities, rigging and illegal money collection in relation to the examination conducted in April 2025 for the post of Assistant Professor under Advertisement No. 51 by Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission, Prayagraj.

Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered a confidential investigation into the matter. Acting on the basis of information received, on 20-04-2025, STF arrested three accused Mehboob Ali, Baijnath Pal and Vinay Pal of the gang who cheated the candidates by creating fake question paper of Assistant Professor examination. The accused have been accused of exam rigging and illegal money collection. This examination was held on 16-04-2025 and 17-04-2025.

UP Education Selection Commission employee was arrested

UP STF had lodged an FIR in this case at Vibhuti Khand police station in Lucknow. In order to ensure impartiality and confidentiality of the investigation, resignation was taken from the then Chairperson of the Commission. Since accused Mehboob Ali was the confidential assistant of the outgoing Commission Chairperson. During interrogation, accused Mehboob Ali admitted that during the moderation process itself, question papers of various subjects were taken out by him, which he made available to many candidates by taking money through various means.

The confession of accused Mehboob Ali has been confirmed by the STF through thorough investigation and data analysis. After investigation, on the basis of mobile numbers of some candidates found with the accused, names of many other accused also came to light. After this, a letter was written to the Commission asking for the data of the doubtful candidates. STF investigation revealed that there were irregularities in the examination. After this today CM Yogi ordered to cancel the examination.
