Died on 24th November last year
Dharmendra Funeral, (News), Mumbai: Dharmendra, one of the most legendary actors of Bollywood, died on 24 November last year. Dharmendra may not be among us today, but even today his fans love him as much as they used to love him before. Dharmendra was an amazing actor and down to earth personality. He immortalized Hindi cinema with the characters he played. Dharmendra left this world very quietly. The news of Dharmendra’s demise came suddenly.
Everyone was aware that he was unwell and was at home, but the moment he breathed his last, nothing was said about it by the family. His fans could not even see Dharmendra for the last time, due to which his fans were very angry. Now writer and columnist Shobha De has given her opinion on this matter.
Shobha talked about this in an interview. He was asked whether Dharmendra’s last rites should be performed with state honours. In response to this question, Shobha said, yes, why not. I also wrote about this. Even before this, many actors have been cremated with state honours, so they should have been given this honour. It seemed as if this was a big mistake, or it was done for political reasons.
Shobha further gave the example of Sridevi and said, when a superstar like Sridevi was given this honour, then Dharmendra should also have been given this honour. Dharmendra was in a critical condition, everyone knew this. If things had to be organized, it should have been planned properly. Hema Malini is an MP, if she had just made one call, everything would have been managed. It was disappointing and strange.
