History of Tulsi Manas Temple


Tulsi Manas Temple is one of the most famous and sacred Hindu temples of Varanasi. This temple was built in the 1970s by the Birla family, a prestigious industrialist family of Varanasi.


 


The temple is named after the great poet-saint Goswami Tulsidas, who composed Ramcharitmanas in this same Kashi (Varanasi). It is believed that the place where Tulsi Manas Temple is situated today is the sacred place where Tulsidas ji used to sit and write Ramcharitmanas in Awadhi language.
