Shimla. Eight people were killed and five other passengers were injured when a private bus fell into a ditch in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district on Friday. Police gave this information. In the video circulated on social media, a large number of people can be seen helping in the rescue work and trying to pull out the injured from the wreckage of the bus.

Police said that the accident took place in Haripurdhar area when the bus was coming from Solan and the bus fell 100 to 200 feet off the road. According to the police, the bus overturned after the fall and after the accident the local people ran for rescue work and informed the police.

Industries Minister and MLA from Shalai assembly constituency Harshvardhan Chauhan said that the district administration has been alerted and medical teams are ready in the hospitals of Dadahu, Sangrah and Nahan. The MLA said that the cause of the accident is not yet known. He expressed grief over the accident.
