On one hand, his popular show ‘The Great Indian Kapil Sharma’ is gaining discussion, three episodes of which have gone on air, while on the other hand, there is a lot of talk about his recent film ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’. However, the film did not do well at the box office after its release and now its re-release has also been canceled at the last moment.

Kapil’s magic did not work at the box office

The makers had high expectations from ‘Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2’, but the figures were disappointing. The film earned only Rs 11.9 crore in India, while the worldwide collection could reach only Rs 15.75 crore. The film made Rs 1.75 crore from overseas, while the Indian gross collection was around Rs 14 crore. With these figures the film is being considered a flop.

Why did the re-release plan fail?

After the weak performance of the film, the makers had decided to release it in theaters again. The re-release date was fixed for January 9, but the plan got put on hold at the last moment. According to a report, the film was assured to be released on 500 screens in the second run. This promise was made by Star Studio18, which is also the studio partner and distributor of the film. But at the last moment the film could get only 200–250 screens.

Strange time slot became a big reason

Not only this, most of the shows found on the screens were scheduled at strange times. Due to this, the makers felt that the film would not be able to get a proper showcase again. For this reason the producers were not satisfied with the Venus re-release. Finally, on the evening of 8 January, it was decided that the film would not be re-released.

It is noteworthy that the first release of ‘Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2’ was on 12th December. At that time, the box office was dominated by big films like ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’. Due to these films, Kapil Sharma’s film could not get enough shows and within a few days it was removed from the theaters.
