New Delhi. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Friday that the budget session of Parliament will start from January 28 and continue till April 2. The budget session will begin with President Draupadi Murmu’s address to the joint meeting of both the Houses in the Lok Sabha. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Economic Survey and the General Budget.


Rijiju did not share details regarding the date of presentation of the budget. February 1 has been scheduled as Budget Day and this time February 1 is on Sunday. Rijiju said in a post on social media platform He said, “This session will begin on January 28, 2026 and will continue till April 2, 2026.” Rijiju said, “The first phase of the session will end on February 13 and Parliament will meet again for the second phase from March 9.”




Record of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget for the ninth consecutive time. Whereas this will be the 88th budget of the country after independence. Earlier the budget was presented on 28 February. But from 2017 it is presented on 1 February. This is so that the budget proposals can be implemented from the next financial year i.e. 1 April. The budget is usually presented in the Lok Sabha at 11 am.
