Paris (France), January 09: India’s Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar met President Emmanuel Macron here. He conveyed best wishes to him on behalf of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Jaishankar wrote on Twitter, “Today I am very happy to convey good wishes to French President Emmanuel Macron on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I greatly appreciate his views on contemporary global developments and his positive sentiments for our strategic partnership.” External Affairs Minister Jaishankar wrote in the second post, ”It is an honor for me to address the conference of French ambassadors in Paris today. I emphasized the ongoing global changes taking place in trade, finance, technology, energy, resources and connectivity. Change in thinking has been an important factor. Also talked about the importance of India-France partnership in promoting multi-polarity and strategic autonomy. It is noteworthy that earlier, Jaishankar had discussed global issues with his Weimar (Germany, France, Poland) counterparts for the first time in Paris. During this, Dr. Jaishankar discussed with his counterparts the challenges of Indo-Pacific (Indo-Pacific) besides strengthening India-European Union relations.
