Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hoisted the flag on the peak of Ramlala temple in Ayodhya. The flag has been hoisted on the peak of Ram Janmabhoomi temple amidst chanting of Vedic mantras. With the hoisting of the flag, the Ram temple is formally completed. Prime Minister Modi has hoisted the triangular flag on the fifth day of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month on the Abhijeet Muhurta of Vivah Panchami of Lord Shri Ram and Mother Sita.


Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra has told that the symbol of the talent and bravery of Lord Ram is the picture of the shining sun. Lord Ram belongs to Surya dynasty. That’s why this symbol is on the flag. Om is written on it along with the picture of Kovidar tree. This is a flag showing the ideals of Ram Rajya.



What is special about the flag?



  • Om: The symbol of Om is Om. It is the most sacred and important mantra and symbol of Hinduism, Yoga and Indian spiritual tradition. This is called Pranav Mantra. It is believed that this is the basic sound of the universe. This is called the first vibration of the universe. In the Vedas, Om is called Shabda-Brahma.

  • Sun: Dynasty of Lord Rama, also known as Surya Dynasty. He was a Suryavanshi Kshatriya. Surya is the male symbol of their clan.

  • Kovidar:This flower is mythological. This plant is said to have originated from the mixture of Parijat and Mandar. This flower is also mentioned in texts like Ramayana and Harivansh Purana. It is believed that this flower was also depicted in the official symbol of Ayodhya.


Ram temple construction completed


Ram temple construction has been completed. Champat Rai, general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, said that with this ceremony the construction of Ram temple was formally completed.

How is the flag hoisted?


This flag is hoisted on a peak made in Nagara style. The 800 meter wall around the temple is built in South Indian architectural style. A glimpse of Indian craftsmanship is visible in the temple.


What is there in the temple complex?


On the outer walls of the main temple in the temple complex, 87 incidents to the life of Lord Shri Ram based on Valmiki Ramayana are intricately carved on stones. There are 79 bronze-shield scenes from Indian culture inscribed on the walls of the enclosure.
