According to eyewitnesses, the attackers had come with full preparation. As soon as the woman reached her house, the killers surrounded her. Before she could understand anything or scream for help, she was shot in the chest from point-blank range. She fell on the ground soaked in blood. Her breathing was labored, but perhaps even in her last moments she must have been worried about her daughter for whom she was living. The attackers casually ran away waving their weapons, as if they had no fear of the law.

Sobbing she said, 'The same person who snatched my father from us also killed my mother today. This call of the girl is not only against an accused, but also against the system which has completely failed in providing security to the witnesses. There is no dream of the future in his eyes, but only the fear of death. She would call her mother's name again and again and then become silent, as if she couldn't believe that now there was no one to hug her.

This incident happened when Rachna Yadav had gone to dry clothes in a park near her house. The attackers hiding in the park shot him in the head from close range. The deceased's husband Vijendra Yadav was also murdered in Jahangirpuri in the year 2023. The bail given to accused Bharat Yadav recently from the High Court was canceled by the Supreme Court. Rachna Yadav had filed a petition to cancel the bail. Rachna's innocent daughter alleges that if Delhi Police had provided timely protection, her mother would have been alive today.
