New Delhi: Gold and silver prices witnessed a strong jump on Monday. The price of gold surged by Rs 1,940 to Rs 141,340 per 10 grams, while the price of silver increased by Rs 9,860 to 262,240 per kg. The trend of investors seems to be moving towards safe metals. Gold and silver have become increasingly expensive in the last few days. Due to the dollar and global economic signals in the international market, prices are fluctuating.


Gold prices


The price of 24-carat gold soared 1.3 percent to Rs 141,340 per 10 grams. At the same time, the price of 22-carat gold was Rs 129,562 per 10 grams. The price of gold has increased by 5.63 percent in the last one month. 24-carat gold was Rs 133,810 rupees per 10 grams on 13 December 2025, which reached Rs 141,340 on 12 January 2026. Similarly, one year ago on 12 January 2025, the price of 24-carat gold was Rs 78,700 rupees, which stands at Rs 141,340.


Strength of silver


The price of silver 999 fine jumped 3.9 percent to Rs 262,240 per kg on Monday. In the last one month, the price of silver has increased by 36.26 percent. The demand for silver as a safe investment option is constantly increasing.


Gold, Silver price in international market


The prices of gold and silver were also seen fluctuating at the international level. In the US COMEX market, the price of gold rose by 2 percent to $4,591 per ounce and silver rose 5.57 percent to $83.76 per ounce. The direct impact of global economic pressure and dollar fluctuations is visible in the domestic market. Investors are buying and selling considering this fluctuation.


Gold and Silver rates in Delhi, Mumbai


The prices of gold and silver witnessed a rise in all major cities on Monday. In New Delhi, gold was recorded at Rs 140,780 per 10 grams and silver was Rs 260,980 per kg, which increased by 1,880 rupees and 9,490 rupees respectively.


In Mumbai, gold went up to Rs 141,030 and silver to Rs 261,430 per kg, which is Rs 1,890 rupees and Rs 9,510 more than the previous price.


In Kolkata, the price of gold stood at Rs 140,840 and silver was priced at Rs 261,080 per kg.


In Chennai, gold traded at Rs 141,440 and silver at Rs 262,190 per kg.
