A very good news is coming for crores of food givers of the country. The government is soon going to open the treasury for the farmers waiting for the next installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan Yojana). Till now the government has sent 21 installments of this scheme directly to the bank accounts of the farmers and now everyone’s eyes are on the 22nd installment. If you are also a farmer, then this news can bring a smile on your face because this time there are big expectations attached not only to the installment but also from the budget.

When will the money for the 22nd installment arrive?

If we look at government rules and old records, PM Kisan money is given three times a year. The first installment falls between April-July, the second between August-November and the third between December-March. The previous i.e. 21st installment came in November 2025, so now the time has come for the next installment. If sources and administrative preparations are to be believed, the government may release the 22nd installment of Rs 2000 in the last week of March 2026 or the beginning of April 2026. There is full hope that farmers will get this big gift around Holi.

Will the amount of Samman Nidhi increase in the general budget?

This time’s installment is also special because Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is going to present the general budget on 1 February. In view of the increasing cost of farming and rising prices of fertilizers and seeds, there are speculations that the government may increase the annual amount of ‘PM Kisan’ from Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 or Rs 9,000. If this big announcement is made in the budget, then farmers may get four installments in a year instead of three or the amount of each installment may increase from Rs 2000 to more. However, the final seal on this will be given only on the budget day.

If you want to avoid installment stoppage then do this work immediately.

If you want Rs 2000 to come into your account without any interruption, then complete the e-KYC work today itself. The government has made it clear that money will not be sent to the accounts of farmers whose KYC is incomplete. You can do this sitting at home by visiting the official website of PM Kisan (pmkisan.gov.in) through OTP. Apart from this, it is also important to keep your bank account linked to Aadhaar and check the status of ‘Land Seeding’, so that your hard-earned money does not get stuck due to technical reasons.
