1. Movement
Research has proved that when we engage in any kinds of aerobic exercises, our brain will start releasing positive hormones such as serotonin, oxytocin and dopamine. Additionally, during physical activity, the blood will begin to flow throughout the body. This will naturally make us more alert, aware and present. Hence, if you want to suddenly destroy the negativity that is growing within you, stand up and run. Its that easy!
2. Socialise
Aristotle wrote that “human beings are social animals.” A solution to a lot of our problems is hidden right there within that statement. Similar to exercise, when we socialise, something magical happens inside our brains. Positive hormones will be released and our overall awareness will get heightened. When we are talking with someone, we have to observe a lot of things. Their body language, tonal variations, smile, eye movement, how long they are holding eye-contact, are they stuttering and the list goes on. This is more than enough work for our brain. Therefore, if you want to positively distract your brain from negativities, go out there. Meet your friends. Talk and laugh out loud.
