A pilot's wife has shared the top three clothing items to wear on a plane - regardless of the weather conditions outside.

Laurie, who boasts more than 300,000 Instagram followers, regularly shares advice to help people "travel the globe without a worry in the world".

The Houston-based travel enthusiast has posted everything from girls' trip packing lists and long-haul flight essentials to streamlined airplane outfits, packing tricks and security guidance.

And now, she's offering insight into the key clothing items worth wearing to the airport. The beauty of her recommendations is that they're suitable regardless of the season, flight duration or security requirements.

Laurie recommended the three easiest clothing pieces that work on any flight. First up: a jumper comfortable enough to wear for hours that can be wrapped around your waist or draped over your shoulders when temperatures rise.

Secondly, she suggests trainers with substantial arch support. These enable you to navigate airports all day or explore during your travels. Additionally, sensible footwear is essential in emergency situations.

Lastly, Laurie urged travellers to opt for stretchy trousers (either straight-leg or wide-leg cropped styles) that offer flexibility for both casual and smarter travel looks.
