A brand new police thriller is set to land on Netflix this week with two Hollywood stars at its helm. The Rip stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, who both play Miami cops, lands on Netflix this Friday, January 16.
It's the latest big release on the streaming platform, which has already kicked off the year with rom-com People We Meet on Vacation. Thriller fans will be treated to edge-of-your-seat drama and many twists and turns. A synopsis reads: "Trust frays when a team of Miami cops discovers millions in cash inside a run-down stash house, calling everyone - and everything - into question."
The Rip is expected to be the biggest movie of the year so far on Netflix.
There's a killer cast alongside Affleck and Damon with Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Sasha Calle, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Kyle Chandler.
The two Hollywood icons take on the lead roles of Detective Sergeant JD Byrne and Lieutenant Dane Dumars respectively. It isn't the first time Affleck and Damon have appeared together on screen.
They have both starred in films such as Good Will Hunting, Dogma, The Last Duel, and Air. The Rip won't be Affleck's only film released on Netflix this year as he will also appear in upcoming movie Animals.
When can I watch The Rip? It's not long until fans can get a piece of all the action. The Rip will be released on Netflix this Friday, 16 January.
Typically, the streaming platform releases its new offerings just after midnight Pacific Standard Time (PST) in the United States. This is 3am Eastern Standard Time (EST).
For those of us in the UK, this means 8am on Friday morning. Most European territories will be able to watch at 9am.
Reviews are yet to come in for the film, so all will be revealed come Friday.
