Manchester United interim head coach Michael Carrick will not have been pleased after seeing his starting line-up for Saturday's Manchester derby leaked online. Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Casemiro, Amad and Bryan Mbeumo were all recalled to the starting team against Manchester City as Carrick's men hammered their rivals to win 2-0 at Old Trafford.
Carrick picked a striker-less attack, selecting Amad, Mbeumo (who played down the middle) and Patrick Dorgu to start against City. Benjamin Sesko scored three goals in his previous two matches but was dropped to the bench, while Matheus Cunha losing his place was another talking point when the teams were confirmed. It proved to be a masterstroke as Carrick led United to a hugely impressive victory.
However, the fact that his team was correctly leaked hours before the match will no doubt cause some concern.
The incident is not the first time United have suffered from leaks. The Red Devils reportedly launched an investigation in December into how then United head coach Ruben Amorim's plans to tweak his system were leaked on the day of a clash against Bournemouth.

The Mailclaimed at the time that United were committed to identifying the source of the leak to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future. A club spokesperson declined to comment.
United were also said to have been 'furious' in September over reports that Red Devils captain Bruno Fernandes is 'unhappy'. United's team selection was also leaked well ahead of the Manchester derby in December 2024.
"I know that story," Amorim said at the time. "I don't know, I think it's impossible to fix nowadays because you have a lot of people in the club, the players talk with agents.
"I don't know, you can talk with friends, so it's hard to know. It's not a good thing but let's move on and go to the next one and see if they find the next starting XI."
Several other stories were leaked last season, including those over squad issues and team news, with United's hierarchy taking steps to identify the mole in the camp.
Other managerial tenures at M16, under Erik ten Hag, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Jose Mourinho, were also plagued by leaks. Despite it presenting a clear problem at United, Carrick's immediate focus will no doubt be on celebrating the derby victory on Saturday, with Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu both scoring to steal the bragging rights.
