Michael McIntyre's Big Show made its comeback on Saturday evening for its ninth series, featuring Romesh Ranganathan in the Remember Me segment.

The Remember Me feature sees a celebrity confronted with a series of individuals emerging through a trapdoor in the centre of the stage, with the celebrity tasked with recalling their identity.

Each individual is somebody they've encountered previously, whether a significant figure from their history or someone they've only briefly crossed paths with recently.

During Saturday's episode, Romesh came face-to-face with an ex from his high school days in a comically uncomfortable exchange for the comedian, who confessed: "I'm not happy about this!"

In the amusing segment, a woman named Sonia appeared on stage, with text displayed reading 'snogged in year 11'. Sonia enquired: "Hi Romesh, remember me?" prompting a startled Romesh to answer: "Yes... I think I do..."

A playful Michael then announced: "Let me give you a clue anyway, just to get a bit more of a grasp on the history here. Here's the clue..."

Romesh began burying his face in his palms as he conceded: "This is so bad" with a mischievous Michael replying: "So Romesh, do you remember this person?"

Romesh answered: "I think I do, we went to school together, didn't we?" After confirming their school connection, Michael enquired: "What kind of relationship did you two have at this time?"

Romesh responded: "Well, I think you know Michael, don't you?" with Michael quipping: "We don't know anything about that!" Romesh then exclaimed: "Sonia, I've not seen you for a while, I'm not happy about this!" before adding: "I don't need another clue, Michael!" as a vintage school photograph of the pair flashed up on screen.

Revealing their connection, Sonia remembered: "We were in maths class together, and we were at the fifth year leaver's party together..." before disclosing that "he went for a kiss".

Romesh then elaborated: "Well, so, I suggested to Sonia that we go for a walk. And then, um, when we're in... there's no other way to phrase this, but when we're in the woods, I made my move.

"Then what followed was sort of, in theory, we were going out, weren't we, for... for a week?" Romesh then joked with Sonia: "Do you still think about me?" to which she replied: "No!".

During a later moment in the segment, Romesh was reunited with his childhood best friend from primary school, prompting him to gasp: "Oh my God, I know who you are. Is it Dylan? Oh, my God! Oh, my God! Mate, oh, my God!".

He continued: "We used to hang around all the time, oh my God, it's so good to see you!"

Michael McIntyre's Big Show continues on Saturday nights.
