Giridih A girl student died in a road accident on Friday in Atka located in Godar police station area. The body of the deceased was brought to Bagodar Trauma Center for post-mortem, but due to the strike of the outsourcing workers working there, the post-mortem could not be done. The family remained adamant on the demand of getting the post-mortem of the deceased done at Bagodar Trauma Centre, due to which the body of the student remained lying in the hospital till the next day.

Angry family members vandalized the hospital


The post-mortem could not be conducted even on Saturday as the strike continued. The family members kept requesting the outsourcing personnel, but no solution could be found for about three-four hours. After this the family members became angry and started vandalizing the hospital premises. During this, the oxygen pipes, nozzles and chairs installed in the trauma center were damaged, while the glass of the windows were also broken.

Post mortem took place after administrative intervention


As soon as information about the incident was received, the local police reached the Trauma Center and the Bagodar zonal officer was informed about the matter. Circle officer reached the spot and took stock of the situation. After administrative intervention, post-mortem of the body was conducted and after that the body was handed over to the relatives.

Doctor injured during demolition


In this regard, Medical Officer Dr. Vinay Kumar said that the outsourcing workers were on strike for their demands, that is why talks were going on regarding the post-mortem. Meanwhile, the family members became angry and an incident of vandalism took place. During this period, a doctor, Dr. Hemanti Kumari, also got injured.

MLA Nagendra Mahato also reached Trauma Center


It is said that to resolve the matter, Bagodar MLA Nagendra Mahato also reached the Trauma Center and tried to convince the outsourcing personnel, but they remained adamant on their demands. Within no time the situation worsened and the matter turned violent. At present the strike of outsourcing workers is continuing.
