Actor and endurance athlete Saiyami Kher recently marked ten years since her first participation in a marathon race, a race she credits with starting her journey in endurance sports . Although she has not run the marathon every year due to the pandemic, the event continues to hold personal significance for her.
Kher ran her first full 42.2 km marathon a decade ago, an experience that later led her towards long-distance running and triathlons. Over the years, she has completed two Ironman 70.3 races while continuing her work in films. Reflecting on the milestone, Kher said the Mumbai marathon has remained a constant in her life, offering a sense of balance amid demanding shooting schedules and training routines.
She also spoke about the growing participation in running events across the country, particularly among women, and noted how fitness has become a regular part of many lives. At the same time, she highlighted the importance of addressing environmental concerns, stressing that outdoor fitness should go hand in hand with cleaner air.
Known for maintaining a disciplined training routine alongside her acting career, Kher views endurance sports as a long-term commitment. Her decade-long association with the Mumbai marathon reflects her sustained focus on fitness, consistency, and mental strength.
