South Indian food is very much loved by everyone. Always have idli, dosa, upma, shira, khichdi for breakfast. Many dishes like kandapoha etc. are made. But after getting tired of eating the same food all the time, some like to eat some new food. In that case you can make potato uttapam in a simple way. This dish goes very well with sauce or green chutney. A quick dish made with minimum ingredients is tasty as well as very nutritious for health. Adults, including children, do not like to eat potatoes. But sometime you should eat potato for breakfast. This helps in weight gain. Materials:



  • raw potato

  • semolina

  • curd

  • Onion

  • Green chillies

  • Coriander

  • cumin

  • Black pepper powder

  • salt

  • Oil

Action:



  • To make potato uttapam first, peel the potato and grate it. Soak the grated potato in water for some time. This will reduce the starch in the potato.

  • Take semolina and curd in a big bowl and mix well. Add water as needed to the prepared mixture and mix it and keep it aside for some time.

  • Then add mashed potatoes, finely chopped onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, cumin seeds and salt and mix. If the dough seems too thick, you can add water.

  • Heat a pan and apply oil all over it. Then spread the prepared mixture evenly and make uttapam. Remove the uttapams from both sides after they are well crisped.

  • Potato uttapam made in an easy way is ready. Everyone from kids to adults will love this dish.
