Now the pace of development in Uttar Pradesh will be decided by the village chaupals and it will be led by rural women. Women are not only being strengthened economically through self-help groups, but they are also being given the responsibility of taking the government schemes to the ground. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government has intensified work on a comprehensive and practical strategy towards making rural women self-reliant.
The state government is moving towards making self-help groups a strong base of the rural economy. Capital is being provided to women through Start-up Fund, Revolving Fund and Community Investment Fund, so that they can start small businesses and increase their income. These groups are being seen as the new growth engines of developed UP.
Under the National Rural Livelihood Mission, women will be given responsible roles like Group Sakhi, Bank Sakhi, Aajeevika Sakhi and Drone Sakhi. Through these roles, women will take active participation in banking services, government schemes, agricultural works and technical services. On one hand, this will open new employment opportunities, while on the other hand, the benefits of the schemes will directly reach the needy.
The government is going to connect about two lakh beneficiary families of eligible household ration card holders and Antyodaya card holders with self-help groups. Along with this, the process of connecting women of 6.67 lakh families identified under the Zero Poverty Campaign with the groups has also been expedited. The objective of this campaign is to economically empower the weakest section.
Rural women are being provided loan facility as per their need, which will be allowed to be repaid in easy installments. With this, women will be able to start self-employment without any financial pressure. The focus of the government is that women should become self-reliant and play an active role in increasing the family income.
A special mega campaign will be run in all the gram panchayats of the state to connect women with self-help groups. Its objective is to connect more and more women with groups and connect them with training, financial assistance and markets.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath believes that only when women are empowered, the family, village and state will be strong. A plan has also been made to directly connect rural products to the market through self-help groups, so that women can get fair prices for their products. This initiative will not only strengthen the rural economy but will also give a new direction to the goal of developed Uttar Pradesh.
