The weatherin the UK has been pretty miserable of late, and if you're sick of needing an umbrella wherever you go, and feel like you need a dose of vitamin D, there are some great flight deals to be had.

Ryanair has released a sale with thousands of fares slashed until the end of March. While it includes many city breaks and interesting European destinations, there's one winter-sun destination that's bound to tempt Brits missing summer.

You can currently book a range of flights to the Canary Islands from the UK for just £14.99 one way on Ryanair's website. While the islands have seen some storms in recent days, its forecast for the next couple of weeks looks promising with highs of 20C and mostly sunny days. By March, temperatures usually hit 20-22C during the day, meaning it's warm enough to sit on the beach or lounge by the pool.

To add to the winter cheer, £15 fares to Tenerife South can be found on selected dates from UK airports including Birmingham, London-Stansted, Edinburgh, and more. Tenerifetends to be the most popular Canary Island this time of year as it gets the warmest weather in the area, especially in the south of the island.

Popular resorts for Brits visiting Tenerife include Costa Adeje, Playa de las Américas, and Los Cristianos, which have sandy beaches, family-friendly attractions, and a good selection of bars and restaurants open over the winter months. If you prefer a quieter resort, stay in Los Gigantes, known for its rugged volcanic cliffs and natural rock pools where you can swim.

You can also find fares to Gran Canaria from £14.99, with UK departures including London-Stansted, Manchester, Bournemouth, and Bristol, making it cheaper than ever to visit this volcanic island. With a similar climate to Tenerife, Gran Canaria is slightly less busy, although it does have some lively resorts in the south, such as Maspalomas.

While many people visit Gran Canaria to simply relax on the beach, winter is also a popular time for hikers, as the weather is mild and perfect for days on the trail. The hike up Roque Nublo is particularly popular. Taking just half an hour to get to the peak, it offers views across the island's volcanic landscape.

An island that's often overlooked is Fuerteventura, and Ryanair'ssale includes £15 fares to this lesser-visited spot from Stansted and East Midlands, while from Leeds Bradford, fares start at £16. Fuerteventura is flatter than some of the other Canary Islands, having more of a desert landscape, and it's known for its long, wide sandy beaches.

Many visitors stay in Corralejo in the winter months. It's on the northern tip of the island, and from its port you can take a ferry over to Lanzarote for a day trip, which takes under half an hour.

Corralejo is popular for swimming, windsurfing, and all sorts of water sports, and the town has lively nightlife year-round. It's also a good time to hike Montaña Roja, which usually takes under an hour. From here, you get views across the sea to Lanzarote and can see for miles on clear days.

Flight prices are subject to availability and can change. Book via the official Ryanair website.
