There’s an active recall on a popular fiber supplement sold in Canada, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). This is due to an insect contamination.


The recall affects Foodsquirrel Organic Psyllium Husk Powder sold in 113-gram and 454-gram packages with printed code “EX31DE27_FS1139.” The affected psyllium husk powder may also be unbranded, sold in 25-kilogram packaging with internal lot code “FS1139” as well as printed lot number “GF/OPHP/5702/25.”


These psyllium husk powders were sold online across Canada. Check your supplement powder immediately, and if it matches the recall information, dispose of it or return to your place of purchase for a possible refund. The recalled products were recalled due to the “presence of insects,” and while no injuries or illnesses have been reported, consult with a healthcare provider if you’re experiencing any irregular symptoms after consuming.
