Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in the ‘Centenary Year Celebration 2026’ organized by ‘All World Gayatri Parivar’ on the birth centenary of Mata Bhagwati Devi Sharma and Akhand Deep centenary year in Haridwar, Uttarakhand on Thursday. He inaugurated the program by lighting the traditional lamp.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “Today Pandit Shriram Sharma connected millions of people with Gayatri Mantra, Gayatri Puja and Gayatri Sadhana. Now it is the responsibility of these millions of people to move forward with new energy and enthusiasm under the leadership of Chinmay Pandya for the next hundred years.

Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya and Mata Bhagwati Devi did the work of many eras during their lifetime. Under his movement, more than 15 crore followers are following the path of spirituality and today the centenary of Akhand Jyoti is being celebrated. 1925-26 was the year of national renaissance and in the same year, the Sangh Parivar was established.”

He said that those who know Sanatan Dharma, Indian culture and the history of India well, they strongly believe that if the solution to all the problems of the world lies somewhere, then it lies in the Indian tradition. Haridwar is the land of Kumbh, the land of penance of Saptarishis. Countless saints have awakened not only their own souls but also the souls of crores of people on this very land and guided them on the path of spirituality.

The Union Home Minister said that this place is a confluence of faith, spirituality and culture. Respected Pandit Shriram Sharma chose the path of personality development to revive these three. Today, by coming to ‘Akhand Jyoti Sammelan’, I am truly experiencing unbroken energy and consciousness.

Amit Shah said that as soon as one steps into Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, one experiences the energy of thousands of years of penance. Haridwar is the Kumbh area, the holy land of penance of the seven sages. Countless saints have awakened their own souls as well as the souls of crores of people here and led them on the path of spirituality. On this land, Pandit Ram Sharma ji and venerable Mata ji did the great work of awakening Gayatri energy.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “Gayatri Mantra, in a way, revived spiritual life. There were many rigid practices in Sanatan Dharma, for example, women were not allowed to chant Gayatri Mantra. No one could answer why they were not allowed. Pandit Shriram Sharma worked to break this rigid tradition. He created a path for the well-being of every soul, regardless of caste, community or gender, through the power of Gayatri Mantra.”

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, attended the inauguration ceremony of Patanjali Emergency and Critical Care Hospital at Patanjali Yogpeeth in Maharishi Dayanand Gram, Haridwar, in the presence of Yoga Guru Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna, MD, Patanjali Ayurveda Limited and co-founder of Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust.
