New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced the Indian women’s team squad for their one-off Test against Australia in March this year. Star batter Pratika Rawal, young left-arm spinner Vaishanvi Sharma and pacer Kranti Gaud earned their maiden Test call-ups as they made the cut in the 15-member squad for the Test match.
India will play the one-off Test match against Australia in Perth from March 06 to 09. Harmanpreet Kaur will lead India in the one-off Test, which will be preceded by three T20Is and as many ODIs. The white-ball series between India and Australia is set to get underway on February 15.
Partika, who was earlier ruled out of the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 due to an ankle injury, is expected to recover fully before the Indian team leaves for Australia. The star batter is not part of India’s ODI squad for the Australia tour, but has been rewarded with her maiden Test call-up after he heroics in the fifty-over format.
Pratika has been one of India’s most consistent batters in ODIs, with 1110 runs in 20 matches at an average of over 50, including seven fifties and two half-centuries. She played a key role in helping India reach the final of the 2026 Women’s ODI World Cup, before missing the semi-final and the summit clash due to her injury.
Vaishanvi, who earned her maiden India call-up in the T20I series against Sri Lanka in December last year, has also been selected in the Test squad. The left-arm spinner rose to fame after her strong show in India’s U19 World Cup triumph last year and has witnessed a remarkable rise ever since.
Kranti has also been rewarded for her consistent performances for India in white-ball cricket. The young pacer has 23 wickets to her name in 15 ODIs and 4 T20Is for the country and she is currently playing for the UP Warriorz in the WPL 2026.
The selectors have also included Mumbai pacer Sayali Satghare in the squad. Satghare is part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the ongoing WPL 2026 and has caught the attention of many with her stellar performances. The 25-year-old, who has played three ODIs for India, has six wickets to her name in just two matches for RCB in WPL 2026 so far.
Shafali Verma has also been named in India’s squad, and it remains to be seen if she will edge Pratika for a spot in the playing XI for the one-off Test against the Aussies. Uma Chetry has also been named in the squad as a backup wicket-keeper for Richa Ghosh.

G Kamalini ruled out of India’s tour of AustraliaThe BCCI also confirmed that young wicket-keeper batter G Kamalini has been ruled out of India’s upcoming tour of Australia. Kamalini was recently ruled out of the WPL 2026 due to a shoulder injury, with the Mumbai Indians roping in Vaishnavi as her replacement. The selectors have added Uma Chetry to India’s ODI and T20I squad as a replacement for the injured wicket-keeper batter.
