Bangladesh Minority Attack: Is it now fatal to be a Hindu in Bangladesh? In Narsindi, a young man was burnt alive inside a shop. Suspect seen in CCTV, but no arrest so far. Is this a planned hate murder?

Hindu Youth Killed Bangladesh: Cases of violence against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh are continuously increasing concern. The latest case has come to light from Narsindi district, where a 23-year-old Hindu youth Chanchal Chandra Bhowmik was allegedly burnt alive. The burnt body of the youth was found inside the same shop where he used to work. This incident has once again raised questions – are Hindus safe in Bangladesh? And was it just an accident or a planned murder?

What happened that night when the shop caught fire?

According to local people, Chanchal was sleeping inside his garage on Friday night. Late in the night some unknown person poured petrol on the shutter from outside the shop and set it on fire. Since the shutter was closed from outside, the fire quickly spread inside and Chanchal could not get out. Within a few minutes the entire shop was engulfed in flames.

Did Chanchal get any chance to escape?

Eyewitnesses say that Chanchal remained trapped in the fire and kept suffering for a long time. There was no way out. People nearby could not enter inside due to fire and smoke. By the time the fire service team arrived, it was too late.

What did the fire service and police tell?

As soon as information about the incident was received, the Narsindi Fire Service team reached the spot. The fire was brought under control after about an hour of effort. After the fire was extinguished, Chanchal's completely burnt body was recovered from inside the shop. Police have registered the case and started investigation and the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby is being scrutinized.

What was seen in the CCTV footage?

A video related to this incident has surfaced, in which a person is seen setting fire outside the shop and running away from the spot. However, the police have not yet officially confirmed this video. If the footage proves to be correct, then this incident can be considered not an accident but a planned murder.

What did Chanchal mean to the family?

Chanchal was the only earning member of his family. His father had already passed away. Her mother is seriously ill, her elder brother is disabled and there is also a younger brother, the responsibility of which was on Chanchal. His death has left the entire family helpless and destitute.

Is this part of the increasing violence on minorities?

The family clearly says that this is not an accident but a planned murder. This incident has again raised serious questions regarding the safety of the Hindu community in Bangladesh. Such incidents have been reported in the past too, but due to lack of strict action against the culprits, fear and distrust is increasing. Will the accused be caught or will this case also remain buried in the files? Police investigation is ongoing, but the entire country wants answers.
