The world's highest-earning boxers have been revealed, with the fighter dubbed 'the new Floyd Mayweather' standing head and shoulders above the rest. That man is Canelo Alvarez, who banked a staggering £102million in 2025.
Across all sports, only Cristiano Ronaldo earned more, according to Sportico. The Portuguese superstar topped the rich list by scooping an eye-watering £195m last year. Although Alvarez came in at No. 2, boxing was sparsely represented among the top earners, with just three other fighters making the top 100: Terence Crawford, Naoya Inoue and Jake Paul.
Crawford ranks highest of the trio at No. 21, having earned around £49m in 2025 - a figure driven largely by his blockbuster victory over Alvarez in their September showdown. Inoue follows at No. 25 with £46m, while Paul sits just behind at No. 30 after pocketing just under £45m.
Alvarez, who suffered his first professional defeat at the hands of Mayweather in 2013, went on to inherit the American's mantle as boxing's biggest star below the heavyweight division. Now 35, the Mexican icon has won world titles in four weight classes - from light-middleweight to light-heavyweight - and is widely regarded as one of the finest pound-for-pound fighters of his generation.

His loss to Crawford last year undoubtedly dented his legacy, but it did little harm to his earning power. Alvarez recently signed a lucrative four-fight deal with Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh, reportedly worth around £240m.

That agreement began with a points victory over William Scull in Riyadh in May, before the September mega-fight in Las Vegas against Crawford, who retired immediately afterwards with a perfect 42-0 record - ruling out any possibility of a rematch. Alvarez has since confirmed he will return to the ring in September this year following elbow surgery.
Inoue also secured a lucrative deal with Alalshikh and fought four times in 2025. The Japanese bantamweight remains undefeated, boasting a flawless 32-0 record, with 27 of those wins coming by knockout.
Paul, meanwhile, competed twice last year. He outpointed Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in June before suffering a knockout defeat to Anthony Joshua in December. More than 33million viewers tuned in to watch his six-round loss to AJ - a bout that accounted for the majority of his annual earnings.
After Ronaldo and Alvarez, Lionel Messi is next on the earnings list after making £97m in 2025. Baseball star Juan Soto (£96.5m) and NBA legend LeBron James (£96m) round out the top five.
Former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema follows on £86m, ahead of NBA superstar Steph Curry (£78.6m), baseball sensation Shohei Ohtani (£76.4m) and Kevin Durant (£75.1m), another NBA icon. LIV Golf star Jon Rahm completes the top 10 with earnings of £75m.
The likes Lewis Hamilton, Rory McIlroy, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland just missed out on a top 10 spot, as did Max Verstappen, Scottie Scheffler and Patrick Mahomes.
Six British stars featured on the list, with Hamilton the highest-ranked among them after earning £74m. He's followed by McIlroy on £68m, while newly crowned Formula 1 world champion Lando Norris sits next on £44m.
Footballers Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham also make the cut, banking £32m and £29m respectively. Rounding off the British contingent is NBA standout Ogugua 'OG' Anunoby, who earned £28m over the year.
