Chelsea have moved back into the top four of the Premier League with a crucial win away at Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues now occupy fourth in the table following the three points and Liverpool losing at Bournemouth yesterday evening, though Manchester United have the opportunity to leapfrog Liam Rosenior's men against Arsenal later today.

The big news pre-match was Cole Palmer being left out of Rosenior's squad. The 23-year-old did not travel to Selhurst Park with his teammates due to a minor thigh injury, though the hope is that he will be fit and available for the trip to Naples next week.

The west Londoners took the lead on 34 minutes through Estevao Willian. The 18-year-old capitalised on a wayward back pass from Jaydee Canvot and stayed calm in front of goal to slot the ball past a helpless Dean Henderson.

Early in the second-half, Chelsea doubled their lead through Joao Pedro. The Brazil international linked up well with Estevao before smashing the ball low and hard into the back of the net.

Chelsea struck a third on 64 minutes. Darren England went over to the pitchside monitor after Joao Pedro's close-range shot was blocked by Canvot's arm. While stating in his announcement that the handball was "accidental", England pointed to the spot and Enzo Fernandez took care of the rest.

Adam Wharton was sent off for picking up two yellow cards to inflict even more pain on the home side. But Palace did manage to get a goal through Chris Richards' header with just a few minutes of normal time remaining, but the Blues held on and moved back into the Champions League places with a crucial three points.

Below, Bobby Vincent rates the Chelsea players out of 10 based on their performance:

Robert Sanchez

Sanchez made a really big save early on to stop Jean-Philippe Mateta's low effort. The Spaniard smartly saved it with his feet to stop Palace going a goal ahead. Didn't have much to do apart from that. 7.

Reece James

Started at right-back. A bizarre header back towards his own goal, which was unintentional, almost led to Palace scoring in the first-half. There was another weird moment on 75 minutes when he gifted the ball to Palace in a dangerous area and was almost made to pay. 5.

Trevoh Chalobah

Returned to Selhurst Park for the first time since his loan with the Eagles was cancelled. Chalobah was quite often involved in a physical battle with Mateta. More often than not, he stood firm against the striker. He did that to help set up Joao Pedro's goal at the start of the second-half. Tackled Mateta in a one-v-one and then played a fine pass up the field to the Brazilian. 7.

Benoit Badiashile

Badiashile made a bad mistake around eight minutes in and it gifted the Eagles a golden opportunity to go ahead. Fortunately for the defender, Sanchez was there to bail him out. A shaky afternoon from Badiashile, but he did improve as it went on. 5.

Marc Cucurella

The Spaniard was often in the final third and looking to float crosses into the box. Not all of them were excellent but there were a few teasers for his teammates. 6.

Moises Caicedo

Crucial tackle six minutes in to stop Mateta having a shot at goal. Booked not too long after and bizarrely committed a silly foul moments later but got away with it. 6.

Andrey Santos

Santos made a crucial interception on 18 minutes to stop Daniel Munoz's delivery towards Brennan Johnson. It looked as though it would have been a certain goal if not for the Brazilian midfielder's sliding block. That wasn't the only time Santos read the game really well. Another impressive display from the Chelsea midfielder. 8.

Estevao Willian

Opens the scoring. Showed tremendous pace and composure to stay cool in front of goal. He had a long time to think about what he was going to do but was decisive when it mattered. Almost did the same moments later in a similar scenario but hit his right-footed shot just wide. A fine clipped pass for Joao Pedro to double Chelsea's lead early in the second-half. 8.

Enzo Fernandez

Fernandez missed a good opportunity to score early on but his overall performance was encouraging again. Some clever passes while keeping the play ticking along nicely for the away side. Calm as you like from the penalty spot. 8.

Pedro Neto

Neto was shifted out to the left wing on Sunday afternoon but suffered yet more frustration. The Portuguese winger has not been at his best in recent appearances and that was the same against Palace. Quite often a Chelsea attack would break down because of a bad touch or pass from Neto. It is not quite happening at the moment. 5.

Joao Pedro

The Brazil international led the line at Selhurst Park. It was a quiet first-half for Chelsea's No.20 but he started the second period with a bang. After a nice one-two between Joao Pedro and Estevao, the Blues forward smashed the ball past Henderson. Would have had a second if it wasn't for the arm of Canvot. 7.

Wesley Fofana (on for Neto 74')

Fofana came on at right-back. Solid enough. 6.

Jamie Gittens (on for Estevao 74')

Gittens was brought on for Estevao and moved to the right wing. Wasn't too involved. 6.

Malo Gusto (on for Caicedo 74')

Gusto came on and did a shift in midfield. Passed it well enough. The game was effectively won when Fofana, Gittens and Gusto were introduced. 6.

Jorrel Hato (on for James 81')

Some more minutes. N/A.

Liam Delap (on for Joao Pedro 85')

Not enough time to impact proceedings. N/A.
