His post showed the deep bond he shares with Mammootty even though they have never acted together. Kamal Haasan wrote, “My dear friend Mammukka has been announced as a recipient of the Padma Bhushan award. We have never acted together. But for a long time we have maintained a ‘Kopperunchozhan Pisiranthayaar’ kind of friendship, where we admire each other from a distance and also openly criticise each other. Now it feels like we should be meeting in person a little more often. As a Mammootty fan myself my wish is that my fans should also become his fans. Friend Mammootty has now become Padma Bhushan Mammootty. Congratulations to my friend.”
