New Delhi: Mumbai Indians (MI) star Nat Sciver-Brunt entered recordbooks by becoming the first-ever batter to score a century in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). The England all-rounder achieved the feat with a cracking 57-ball century in her side’s clash against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara on Monday, January 26.

Several batters came close to becoming the first centurion in the WPL, but failed to reach the triple-figure mark. Sophie Devine came close to becoming the first-ever WPL centurion in 2023, but was dismissed on 99 while playing for her former team, RCB, in their clash against Gujarat Giants. Georgia Voll scored an unbeaten 99 for UP Warriorz against her current side, RCB, last season, but couldn’t complete her ton.

Sciver-Brunt finally brought an end to the wait on Monday with a milestone hundred against RCB in Vadodara. She completed her century off 57 deliveries with a single against RCB spinner Shreyanka Patil in the 20th over of MI’s innings. Sciver-Brunt remained unbeaten on 100 off 57 deliveries to record the highest individual score by any batter in WPL history.

Highest individual scores in WPL:

100* – Nat Sciver-Brunt (Mumbai Indians) vs RCB, Vadodara, 2026

99* – Georgia Voll (UP Warriorz) vs RCB, Lucknow, 2025

99 – Sophie Devine (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) vs Gujarat Giants, Brabourne, 2023

Her terrific unbeaten 100 was laced with a staggering 16 fours and a solitary six as she produced a batting masterclass against the table-toppers. Her blistering ton combined with opener Hayley Matthews’ 39-ball 56, helped Mumbai Indians post a strong total of 199/4 on the board in 20 overs, batting first against RCB.
