Cricket West Indies (CWI) has revealed its squad for the T20 World Cup 2026. The team will be led by Shai Hope who missed the Afghanistan series because of his SA20 obligations. The three players Roston Chase Akeal Hosein and Sherfane Rutherford return to the team after they competed in the South African league.

The selectors have maintained their backing for Quentin Sampson who has managed to score only 35 runs from three matches against Afghanistan. Sampson made a strong debut season in the Caribbean Premier League with the Guyana Amazon Warriors by scoring 241 runs across nine matches while achieving a strike rate of 151.57.

The squad will welcome back Jason Holder Rovman Powell and Romario Shepherd who have been absent from West Indies’ recent matches. Alzarri Joseph who is recovering from injury doesn’t make the cut. Evin Lewis misses out and the experienced opener has hinted at international retirement after the T20 World Cup snub.

Shimron Hetmyer who rejoined the national setup in July last year and played against Afghanistan will travel to India. The top order will be strengthened by Brandon King and Johnson Charles who will compete with him. Gudakesh Motie joins as one of three spinners. The team has selected Jayden Seales and Matthew Forde for their positions.
