Linkin Park’s debut in India became a memorable cultural moment when vocalist Emily Armstrong wore Team India’s cricket jersey on stage during their solo concert at the Brigade Innovation Gardens in Bengaluru on January 23, 2026. The gesture electrified the crowd of 40,000, prompting immediate applause, and the visual became one of the show’s most viral highlights.

As the band began their high-energy set – which mixed classics like In the End, Numb, and Somewhere I Belong with new tracks from From Zero like Heavy Is the Crown and The Emptiness Machine – Armstrong appeared in a blue Indian cricket jersey (according to some reports, the jersey had his name written on the back). The crowd cheered, as the jersey is recognized as a powerful symbol of national pride in cricket-mad India. Fan videos and photos quickly spread across

The moment was more than just music: in a country where cricket jerseys symbolize identity and emotion, Armstrong’s choice created an immediate, true connection without words. Later, while performing Faint, she also wore an Assamese gamosa (traditional scarf) thrown on stage by a fan, further embracing the local culture and winning widespread praise for her cultural sensitivity.

The Bengaluru gig was Linkin Park’s first live performance in India after more than two decades, as part of their From Zero world tour. Earlier, she had a headlining slot at Lollapalooza India in Mumbai on 25 January.

These thoughtful gestures by Armstrong helped connect rock nostalgia with Indian fandom, making the night more than just a musical moment.
