Preparations have now been completed for the multi-format series between the women’s cricket teams of Australia and India. On this tour, the Indian women’s team will tour Australia for three T20 matches, three ODI matches and one Test match. The T20 International matches will be played on 15, 19 and 21 February, while the ODI matches are scheduled for 24, 27 February and 1 March. Recently, Cricket Australia announced its women’s team, in which all-rounder Sophie Molineux has been appointed as the new all-format captain of the Australia women’s team. Sophie Molineux will start the captaincy from the T20 series, while the responsibility of captaincy for ODI and Test matches will be handed over to Alyssa Healy, who will lead the team before Molineux’s retirement.

The T20 International team includes experienced players like Kim Garth, Nicola Carey, Grace Harris and Beth Mooney, while the ODI and Test team will include players like Phoebe Litchfield, Ellyse Perry and Lucy Hamilton. Apart from this, Tahlia McGrath has been retained as the vice-captain. Till now, she has played the role of acting captain 16 times in all formats, which has provided stability and continuity to the team.

National selector Shawn Flagler shared his opinion on appointing Molineux as captain and said that we will manage Sophie’s workload and give priority to major tournaments. Due to his injuries in recent seasons, we will take full care of his fitness. Flagler also said that Tahlia McGrath has been appointed vice-captain in recognition of her significant contribution under the leadership of Alyssa Healy, who has proven to be extremely influential for the team.
