The Bihar Technical Public Service Commission has announced recruitment for 493 posts of Work Inspector (Mechanical). 10th pass candidates can apply online from January 31, 2026.  Learn all the application details.

The Bihar Technical Public Service Commission has reopened the application process for 493 posts of Work Inspector (Mechanical). Candidates who were unable to apply earlier now have another chance. A total of 493 posts have been announced under this recruitment, meaning a large number of candidates will get a chance to secure a government job.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for this recruitment, candidates must have passed at least the 10th standard. They must also possess an ITI certificate. Applications without an ITI certificate will not be considered valid.

Age Limit

The minimum age for candidates applying for this recruitment is 18 years. The maximum age limit for the unreserved category is 37 years. The age limit for unreserved women and OBC candidates is 40 years. For SC and ST candidates, the maximum age limit is 42 years. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved categories as per government rules.

Application Fee

All candidates, regardless of category, will have to pay an application fee of Rs. 100.  There is no separate fee for any category.

Exam Pattern

The examination for this recruitment will be an MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) type. There will be a total of 100 questions, and the exam will be for 100 marks. Candidates will be given 2 hours to complete the exam. There will be a negative marking of ¼ mark for every incorrect answer.

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the written examination. Candidates who perform well in the exam will have a chance to be selected.

Salary

Candidates selected under this recruitment will be paid a salary as per Pay Level-2 of the 7th Pay Commission. Upon appointment to this position, candidates will initially receive a basic salary of approximately Rs. 19,900 per month. This salary will increase over time with experience, promotions, and according to government rules, and can reach a maximum of Rs. 63,200 per month.  In addition, employees will also receive other government allowances such as dearness allowance, house rent allowance, and travel allowance, which will further enhance the total salary.
